So I know we haven't posted anything for a while about what has been going on with us lately but here is some things about just exactly that.
So these few months have been wonderful being back on the Kona campus and being involved with everything that has been going on here. So since we have been back we have had the amazing blessing to fulfill our 1 year commitment to the leadership track. Now what the leadership track is designed to do is to train and equip with skills tomorrows leaders. The it does this is by putting emphasis a the essentials to the Christian faith. Every week each person will spend 8 hours through out the week praying, 5 hours in worship, 9 hours in serving, and 3 hours a week learning how to either preach/teach or how to worship lead. Their is also scripture memorization and a few book reports every quarter. Along with all of this there is time every week set aside for community outreach and that's mainly what I want to continue to talk about in the rest of this because I love community outreach.
So this last quarter we had the amazing opportunity to partner with a ministry based of our New York City called American Bible Society. The vision years ago for this organization was to get a Bible in every home in America that wanted one. So to help complete this vision ABS donated 8000 Bibles to Kona town!! This is amazing! So what we were able to do is every week partner with a different church and systemically divide up all the developments and communities in Kona and go door to door asking every home in Kona if they would like to have a Bible. Now this was extremely exciting for both Kenzie and I because we love the Bible and we love Kona so naturally we were so excited to be doing this. So for about 8 weeks we were able to take Bibles to different homes in Kona and every person that was home to receive these Bibles Kenzie and I were able to pray with them share the gospel with them get them plugged into a local church in their area. I don't know the total number of Bibles we were able to hand out but it was a lot and we were so blessed to be apart of this.
It's so amazing because people want to know about Jesus, they are looking for a way out of their pain and suffering. We don't live in a post Christian time, if anything we live in the most ripe time the earth has ever seen towards Jesus. Well that's just a little update on whats been going on from us to you. I will write more in a few days on another community outreach we had.
Blessings,
Peter and Makenzie.
